A.O.T.B.K - Planning

This is one of the few shots I truly adhered to whilst filming. Albeit with alterations to the text and graphics due to restrictions.

We shot this with reverse placement of characters due to limited space on the fire escape.

The line was changed from "You should have never messed with me..." to "Time to die motherfucker!"

This was ad-libbed on the spot for more effect.

These 2 shots were discarded due to space restrictions on the fire escape.

This again was changed due to discarding shots 5&6.
The slap was merged with shot 3 as the trailer needed to be faster paced.

This is more of a diagram of the action taking place as the dummy conveniently landed in the bin in our original draft. The shot was altered on the day.

The dummy was originally supposed to land in this dumpster at the bottom of the fire escape, with the lid closing. We thought this was a little too cheesy and chose to make a cut from the dummy to my actual body on the floor. This was equally cheesy, but exchanged the slapstick for a degree of shock vaule.

The binouclar framing on this shot was discarded for two reasons:
1) Time restrictions in edit suite
2) The shot would not flow with the following introduction of the cop.

This shot was altered somewhat on the day, we chose to shoot him leaning over a balcony to make the character seem more empowering.

Due to time restrictions in the green-screen room (which was also to serve as a dark interrogation room) this shot was altered. Thought we did shoot this exact scene in a different room, the lighting wasn't sinister enough. We gained access to another dark room, this room however lacked a table so we chose to tie the culprit to a chair. I had to play the culprit due to an actors absence.

This shot was replaced with LES DAMAGE spying from over some air vents. This was because it revealed one of our protagonists in contact with the nemesis too early in the trailer. Sadly, this edit descision removed a key joke from the trailer - as Les is seen using his binoculars on the suspect who is merely feet away.

This was also supposed to be shot in the green screen room - due to time restrictions we could not use the room for this shot, this was shot in the outside corridor shortly afterwards.

These two shots were discarded as we had shot contingency chase footage the day prior. Ironically, our contingency footage was better than the shots planned.

This characters death was discarded due to an actors absence. This was replaced with the death of my co director/cameraman. His death incorporated a false arm I sourced the night before.

On the day of filming we could not go to the scene of the parked limo due to time restrictions.
This shot was replaced with an image of the Bitchslap Killa smoking a cigar against a wall.

(Notice temporary change in artist!) This shot was eliminated as we were denied access to the student halls where we had planned to film.

This fight scene was shot but not included in the final edit.

This punch shot was included as a freeze-frame displaying critic's comments.

This shot was another of the few shots I truly adhered to.

This was altered to be shot from behind, this showed the two protagonists together as opposed to Bruce Sparks appearing alone, which would have disrupted the flow of the trailer somewhat.

These three shots were exchanged as formatting issues from a dvd rip prohibited us from using the third shot. This was taken from a "love scene" from the blaxsploitation classic - Superfly. As this disrupted the narrative somewhat, the voice over (minus the crazy sex part) was to a scenic shot of the corrupt city... leading on to the next shot.

This shot was discarded. Again due to time restrictions in the green-screen room. It was replaced with the shot of the two cops back to back...and the titles were displayed in the according manner above.
